Eden Brown Gaines

Eden Brown GainesMs. Brown Gaines draws from more than 15 years’ experience serving a diverse clientele. She is a seasoned litigator and savvy negotiator. She adopts a principled approach to providing legal representation in corporate governance and business law; government procurement; commercial and public litigation; and labor and employment law and litigation.

Ms. Brown Gaines regularly appears before federal courts nationwide at the trial and appellate levels; Washington Metropolitan area state courts at the trial and appellate level (MD, DC); and federal and state administrative forums to include the Civilian and Armed Services Boards of Contract Appeals, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ms. Brown Gaines is experienced in the arbitration of simple and complex matters (e.g. construction, employment, labor). With both a zealous litigation approach and skilled negotiation tactics, Ms. Brown Gaines frequently brings successful resolution to client matters before a full merits trial. When settlement is not possible, Ms. Brown Gaines brings extensive legal knowledge, a detail oriented approach and a penchant for relating to people to trial, consistently pressing forward to bring her clients success.

Ms. Brown Gaines received her Bachelors of Arts in English and Philosophy from the University of Virginia. She received her Juris Doctor from the American University’s Washington College of Law. Prior to establishing Brown Gaines, LLC, Ms. Brown Gaines served as an associate at a medium-sized firm in Birmingham, Alabama; a senior associate and partner of a Washington, DC law firm; and as in-house advisory and litigation counsel to a non-profit and the Federal Aviation Administration. The breadth and diversity of Ms. Brown Gaines’ experiences easily translates to her competency and reliability as a top-notch advisor and advocate for her clients.

Ms. Brown Gaines is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is proficient in reading, writing and speaking Spanish. She lives in the Maryland suburbs of the District of Columbia with her husband. Together they raise two handsome and talented sons.

Nicole Dillard

Nicole DillardMs. Dillard is Of-Counsel to Brown Gaines, LLC. Her practice focuses primarily on business immigration and corporate visa matters as well as labor and employment consultation and litigation. Ms. Dillard is an experienced litigator with more than ten years’ experience representing corporate clients in federal administrative forums on immigration matters; Washington Metropolitan area courts in employment matters (DC, VA) at the trial and appellate level and in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. In addition to business immigration matters, Ms. Dillard services families and individual clients in naturalization/citizenship proceedings and in obtaining work visas.

Ms. Dillard is the principal of Oden & Dillard, PLLC. Prior to establishing her own practice, Ms. Dillard served as counsel at Washington DC immigration and corporate firms. She is a graduate of Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. She also earned her Masters of Education in Bilingual Education from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Dillard was an English as a Second Language teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia.

Ms. Dillard is licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia. She speaks, reads and writes in Spanish. Ms. Dillard lives in the District of Columbia with her beautiful and energetic daughter.

Olayinka Alexander

Olayinka AlexanderMs. Alexander is Of Counsel to Brown Gaines, LLC.  She supports the firm and its clients in the areas of Corporate Governance and Compliance, Employment, Immigration, Contract (Commercial and Public) Litigation and Estates and Family Law matters.  Ms. Alexander has served clients in the Washington Metropolitan area since 1998.  She has provided litigation support in Corporate, Commercial and Family Law for a number of firms and companies in the area.  Ms. Alexander has provided freelance case management and litigation support services, including, but not limited to, supervising large scale document production projects for Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and Venable Baetjer and Howard LLP in Virginia.  Ms.

Alexander is experienced in supporting complex litigation matters and class actions.  Ms. Alexander received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Syracuse University in 1995, and her Juris Doctor from American University¹s Washington College of Law in 1998.  She is a member of the New York State and District of Columbia Bars.  She resides in the Washington, D.C. Suburbs with her husband and three daughters.
